Special Breed Show for Eurasiers in Lippstadt

(Dorothe Kirchberger, ZG)

Cheerfully we set off on Sunday morning at half past seven to give mental assistance to our Head of the Breeding Board, who planned to show her young and very promising Eurasier female at the Special Breed Show for Eurasiers in Lippstadt, Germany. Possibly one could also learn a thing or two for future shows while watching her or others presenting their dogs? Half past nine, we arrived at the large show premises, where 70 Eurasiers and their owners had already started to prepare for the show outside and the weather was good. There were two rings where the judgement took place. At the same time there was also an impressing presentation of a local agility club, and one or the other Eurasiers and their owners could test if they had talent for that, too.

At ring 1 we saw a couple deeply engaged in mental preparation, they did not want to be disturbed.

At the beginning we could still take our time and view some males. Then we followed our Head of the Breeding Board, who was still calm, to her presentation in the second ring: 17 female Eurasiers had been entered in the open class. Abea vom Streeker Forst, 18 months old, was the youngest in the ring.

Abea was very calm in the ring, had her teeth inspected and showed her lovely movements and gait. Watching this, even untrained spectators could see big differences in the various dogs and their owners. Very interesting also to study the connection between dog and owner, which could be observed very well.

All in all, Abea showed herself from her best side. While waiting for the results, she then had to wait until last. This means, that in this contest she had achieved the first place! Being fans of Abea, we were so fascinated and emotionally moved that the photo we made of her as the winner is slightly unsharp. But, it looks like there will be more photos of Abea and her owner as a winner in future.

We would also like to add that our Breed Inspector, Birgit Ahmann and her Insha von der kleinen Blaike achieved "excellent" in this class. In the following contest of the winning dogs, Abea let Anuschka vom Zweckeler Wald win, who is older than Abea.

For us rather inexperienced visitors of shows, this event was well worth it, because all participants had lots of fun and, although we could not stay to watch everything (our own dogs were at home, so we could not stay that long), we saw beautiful and interesting Eurasiers. Maybe we should attend a show with our Eurasiers after all? Maybe even a Special Breed Show of the ZG?

In that case, Gordon, Catla and their owners could be counted in.
