| The Eurasier - a pure-bred dog - a family dog |
Aims and Objectives of the Zuchtgemeinschaft für Eurasier e.V.
(founded in 1973 in Gaggenau-Mittelberg, Germany)
to continue and extend Charlotte Baldamus' exceptional success in breeding Eurasiers
to strive to perfect the features of the Eurasier under consideration of scientific research within a group of private (hobby-) breeders and true lovers of the breed
to supervise the ongoing breeding in accordance with FCI Standard 291, to maintain health as well as the characteristic features of the Eurasier by strictly controlling the breeding of Eurasiers and only allowing the most suitable Eurasiers for breeding
to place the puppies in suitable homes, a service that is free, with the aim to find very good homes for the puppies. The puppies are raised by their breeders with tender loving care within the family circle
to support scientific research for the benefit of animals and to support the welfare of animals.
Please beware when you read offers of "Eurasiers" in newspapers, magazines or other media. If you cannot find the symbol "VDH" (for the German Kennel Club), somebody is trying to sell you a Eurasier-mongrel or one of those Eurasiers that originate from non-controlled breeders. Often enough these non-controlled breeders are rather careless concerning the mating (all kinds of other dogs than Eurasiers have been used!), and the care of the dam and sire as well as the rearing of the puppies. The behaviour of such so-called "Eurasiers" originating from non-controlled breeders outside the VDH has little or nothing in common with the unique behaviour of a true pedigree Eurasier bred within the VDH.
